Hose clamps maintain mechanical grip and sealing between a hose and a pipe or fitting. Maktel produces screw-type and spring-type hose clamps for automotive, appliance, cooling systems, machinery, industrial equipment and fluid/air lines, with custom production built on our metal forming, spring technology, tooling and CNC laser cutting infrastructure.
Screw-type hose clamps
In screw clamps, the screw mechanism controllably reduces the diameter to create clamping force on the hose. We produce standard and customer-designed screw / worm-drive clamps; screw, housing and band geometry are evaluated for clamping capacity, torque resistance, ease of installation and connection reliability. Material options include stainless and carbon steel bands, steels suited to galvanising/zinc plating, stainless screw and housing materials, and special metals — selected for corrosion, torque, temperature and mechanical load.
Spring-type (screwless) hose clamps
Spring hose clamps apply continuous clamping force through the material's elastic spring force, and can track small changes in hose diameter while maintaining clamping force. Maktel produces spring band clamps and custom screwless connectors from prototype to high-volume series production, using high-tensile spring steels, Cr-Si/Cr-V alloyed steels, stainless spring steels and heat-treatable band materials.
Production, quality control and selection criteria
Depending on the product type, press and die operations, bending and forming, screw-housing assembly and heat treatment are applied; hardening and tempering, stress relieving, Cr+3 zinc plating, passivation, black oxide, phosphating and cataphoretic coating options are evaluated. Nominal diameter alone is not enough — hose and fitting diameters, band width and thickness, clamping force, installation space, temperature range, pressure, vibration, material and corrosion environment must be considered together. Dimensional, diameter, band, geometry, screw/torque, clamping, grip and visual checks are carried out per product type; approved products are packed in line with traceability requirements.
