Compression Springs

Cylindrical, conical, barrel-type and application-specific compression springs from 0.20–9.00 mm wire diameter — from prototype to high-volume series production.

Compression springs work against force applied along their axis, storing mechanical energy as they compress. When the force is removed, they release that energy and help the mechanism return to its starting position — providing push force, motion control, shock and vibration damping, and continuous force between two surfaces.

Maktel manufactures compression springs for automotive, defence, appliance, electrical-electronic, aerospace, medical, industrial systems, toy and consumer product applications, including valves, locks, electrical contacts and precision mechanical systems.

Production range and geometries

We produce cylindrical, conical, double-conical, barrel-type, variable-pitch, progressive and application-specific compression springs from 0.20 to 9.00 mm wire diameter, with open or closed, ground or unground ends — grinding is done in-house. Production is planned from prototype to high-volume series based on technical drawings, samples, specifications or application data; when no spring definition exists, our engineers provide design and prototype support.

Material, heat treatment and surface protection

We use spring wire under EN 10270-1 (SH, DH, SM), EN 10270-2 (FDSiCr, VDSiCr, VDSiCrV, CrSiV) and EN 10270-3 / ISO 6931-1 (301, 302, 304, 316, 631), selected for temperature, cycle life, corrosion risk and dynamic stress. Shot peening can be applied to critical springs to improve fatigue strength; painting, passivation, phosphating and zinc plating are carried out by approved external suppliers and tracked through Maktel's quality system.

Testing and traceable quality

Force, dimensional, spring-characteristic, life/cycle, hardness and corrosion tests can be applied, with camera systems and laser measurement for inspection. APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, SPC and MSA are applied for automotive and appliance products; raw material, process, production and quality records are tracked digitally with full backward traceability.
