Maktel runs its spring production — from prototype to high-volume series — at its integrated 22,000 m² manufacturing facility in Istanbul. Bringing the machine park, raw material stock and technical support units together on a single campus supports production planning, process tracking and supply continuity.

Around 70% of the more than 160 machines in the production park are CNC machines. Maktel uses this infrastructure to respond to different production needs and run precision spring manufacturing within a sustainable production system.

CNC spring production: from prototype to series

A project’s needs at the prototype stage differ from its needs in series production. Maktel handles both within the same production infrastructure. The CNC machine park is supported by maintenance, tooling and die-making units — helping manage production preparation and ongoing production together. Maktel’s in-house machine and test-equipment development work also completes its engineering capability for production needs.

Production and supply continuity through raw material stock

Maktel uses more than 550 tonnes of wire per year. A 500 m² sheltered raw material area and a safety stock of over 250 tonnes are key pillars of production planning. Access to raw material is a decisive factor in bringing orders into production; Maktel’s stock infrastructure supports fast production while reducing delays that could arise from raw material supply and preserving continuity in series production.

Digital tracking and traceability

Maktel uses ERP/MRP systems to plan and track production processes. QR/barcode applications support digital traceability — this infrastructure helps track process information from production through to shipment, so production capacity, raw material and process records are evaluated within the same management structure.

Technical units supporting production

Production continuity rests on the machine park together with the technical infrastructure that supports it. Maktel’s maintenance, tooling and die-making units provide the technical support production needs. Together with in-house machine and test-equipment development, these units help transfer engineering knowledge onto the production floor. The process from prototype to series production is run through these capabilities, brought together on a single campus.
